The invention of the roulette wheel made other games of the type redundant. With its bright green cloth, the polished wood, the glittering wheel with its red and black numbers and chrome fittings, the ivory ball clicking around, the multi coloured chips on the layout, roulette is the epitome of the glamour of gambling.
All betting is based upon the number in which the ball settles when the wheel is spun. Stakes are placed upon the table layout.
